So last year I bought a 10/22 InterRail pass for Amsterdam - Prague - Krakow - Budapest - Belgrad - Zagreb (had intended to travel to Sarajevo, Mostar and finish off in Zadar but I fell ill :(

This year I'm hoping to start in Copenhagen, go to Aarhus for NorthSide (13th-16th June), then hit Hamburg and Berlin. Ensuring I end up in Sarajevo on the 24th, so will hopefully be able to get to Vienna and one of Zagreb / Belgrad along the way.

As I'm 26 I'll have to get the adult pass :( So, I'm just wondering do I buy one or just buy point-point tickets and also rely on buses?

Hi.
Depends on where exactly you want to stop. Eastern Europe is also fine with point to point tickets.
If you travel with point to point tickets, the best is to buy special price tickets - but then you are fixed on train and date. Interrail is more flexible. As soon as you know your exact route, we can have a look at point to point tickets to get an impression. Pre-booking of point to point tickets is usually 3 months in advance. So you can already test it for:

Copenhagen to Aarhus via dsb.dk

Aarhus - Hamburg
Hamburg - Berlin
Berlin - Vienna all via [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux]

Hej!

Go with regular tickets.

To get to Berlin, have a look at Europa Spezial tickets of Deutsche Bahn at [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] - it is possible to get a through ticket to Berlin and include Hamburg as a via stop with up to 48 hours stopover time.
Also, you can get another Europa Spezial from Berlin to either Vienna or Budapest; Vienna - Budapest can be had from 19€ from [u]https://rail.shop/oebb[/ux]
Budapest - Belgrade is 15€, Budapest - Zagreb is 29€; both offers available at the station in Budapest.

There is currently no rail service from Belgrade to Sarajveo and it is unclear whether the rumored new service will materialise next year - so plan with taking a bus.
From Zagreb to Sarajevo the daily train will remain next year as well; I dont have the price at the moment but it wont break the bank... :)

Depending on when you book the Europa Spezial tickets I think it can be done in about 150€ - 200€ (also depending on cabin category when using the overnight train from Berlin).
