Hi, I'm going to travel with two friends who are Brazilians. We are planning to go to France, Netherlands, Italy, Spain and most of Eastern Europe. My friends are living in Portugal for several years and have all the documents (green card, etc), do they still need to get the EUrail? Since I'm Portuguese I only need to buy the InterRail, and the price differences are huge!

They are travelling to Brazil in July to visit their families but it is a short trip. They don't live there anymore.

Hi.
If the have official document (like you mentioned) showing their residency for more than 6 months in an European country (in their case Portugal), they have to buy an Interrail pass ( :) ) with country of residency Portugal.
Indeed, Interrail is cheaper - and in Eurail there is for example Poland not included.
If you like the information here on railcc, be fair and support our work: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
After your purchase, let me know your order-ID beginning with AA and I can set your profile to PLUS for more detailed answers in the forum . Thank you. :)
Peter :)

Hmmm... about visas I can't help you - but if they are allowed to stay in Portugal, the might be also allowed to travel the Schengen area of Europe ??!?? ||

Normally they don't :) but it depends on the countries you'd like to visit in Eastern Europe. Not all countries singed the Schengen Agreement. For the EU countries Ireland, Great Britian, Romanina and Bulgaria your friends need an extra visa, but I'm not sure. Also for countries who haven't signed the agreement, they may need other visa. Ask the embassies in Portugal. I'm sure they can give you a more detailed and more valid answer :D
