Hi all.
So, im doing an Interrail in Jully/August. The problem is the next: Im from Portugal, and I know that in my country there are 50% off to the nearest station of the border. Here is the real problem:

- From my station to the station that I want to leave the country there is no discount (no discount in IC and AP lines) (start in Viana do Castelo-Coimbra-VIlar Formoso and then Madrid)

- The other possibility is starting in Viana do Castelo(my town), then Vigo, Bilbau, San sebastian, Madrid, to reach Paris that is my first stop.(is there a connection vigo-paris or blibao-paris or even San sebastian-paris?). In this I will spend 3 days!

The spanish company RENFE operates in Portugal. Is it possible to use spanish trains in my country?
Do someone has another idea how to leave this limited country? HELP PLZ!!! :'( :?: :'(

NO-its not what is written on the trains, it is who OWNS the RAILS-and sets the fares. Thats your PT govmt. Thus YOU can travel on CP trains in Espana with an IR for free-and an Espanol can travel on RENFE-for ''free'' when in your country PT. Exactly at the border the rules change.
NOone forces you to go by train to border-if bus is cheaper-do that. As you are Portugais, I think you know best what is the cheapest way to get to border-or just across.
In fact flying-think RYANair, may often be cheaper (tickets from 15 eur)-to cover a long distance and thus also save a few IR-passdays. or you can do a 1-way trip to far away and fly back-the choices are unlimited.
