Hi,

I am an American living and working in France. Technically I lived here for 6 months before (I have my student visa as proof), and I will live here for another 6 months (with a work visa), but I have currently only been in the country for a month so far. Eventually I will qualify for an InterRail, but I think I have to wait the 5 months (...right?).

The problem is I didn't fully understand the rules and I already bought an InterRail pass. I have proof that I rent an apartment in France, as well as my work contract and a French bank account, etc, but I'm pretty sure that it still doesn't count.

InterRail customer service closed right before I could call them -- does anyone know if I can exchange an InterRail pass for a Eurail pass, and pay the difference? Or do I have to refund my InterRail and buy a new Eurail?

Or can I still qualify for an InterRail, since I have already lived here 6 months (just not the last 6 months)?

(Sorry if the wording is confusing...that's why I'm so confused too.)

Hi chouchou.
Just let me know our order-ID (PNR beginning with AA) of your official Interrail pass purchase via the railcc partner link [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] . Please by personal mail to me.
Then I can set your profile to PLUS. And give you the details about refunds.
If you bought your Interrail pass at an other company, please ask there for help, as railcc is not the support of other companies.
If you want to travel, a six months stay (or longer) in Europe which you can prove by official documents is required.
Have sunny travel days, Peter :)
