Does anybody knows any information about this night train? I read somewhere it is expensive, but how much does it cost just for one seat?
Should i do a reservation before? If yes, can i do this reservation the same day some hours before?
I m starting my first interail with this train and i m gonna buy the ticket in Milano station cause of some uncertain problems that may come up...Is that possible?
Thanks a lot, Fabri

Hello Fabri.
The prices for the night train Milan to Vienna with Interrail are listed here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/milan-vienna-en-481-234/95
You can never preview if a night train is fully booked or not - so it might be a bit risky to just book at the day of departure - but if you are flexible and don't mind using an other connection (if the night train is full), you are fine.

To support the free information and the forum on railcc, please be fair and buy your official Interrail pass via our railcc partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)
Thank you for supporting, Peter :)

There are no seats on that night train...just couchette and sleeper accomodation is available.

Thanks a lot! If i don't manage to book the reservation, am i allowed to get into the train and sit even on the floor?

No, probably not. As mentioned, the train has no seated coaches from Milano to Vienna so the conductors of the couchette and sleeping cars wont be happy with a backpacker sitting on the corridor.
What you could do is to travel to Venezia Mestre with a late evening train (however watch out as the fast direct trains Milano to Venice are Frecciabianca trains with 10€ compulsory reservation) and use the Roma - Vienna night train from there that has 2nd class seats. However, a 9€ reservation is required...but I experienced that not everyone had one when I last travelled with this train in 2012. Also remember that you cannot use the 1900-rule if you choose this option, you will need two travel days or buy a regular ticket Milano - Venezia in case you are travelling with a flexi pass.

Why can not i use the 1900 rule?

Because you would change trains in Venezia.
You can only use the 1900 rule if you use the direct train from Milano to Vienna, as explained above this direct train only has couchette and sleeper accomodation for which you would need a reservation.
