Hello
This is my first post on these boards. I am hoping to get some advice when we travel by train in Germany next month.
I want to use the train when we travel from Paris to St. Goar next month. We will have 3 25-inch bags. Somewhat heavy but I will try to lighten them up some.
This is the route I would like to take.
Leave Paris Est at 9:10 arrive Saarbrucken 10:55 // 9 minute transfer time
Leave Saarbrucken at 11:04 arrive Koblenz 13:37 // 16 minute transfer time
Leave Koblenz at 13:53 arrive St. Goar 14:19
I am worried about the 9 minute transfer time in Saarbrucken. Is this reasonable? I looked at the station map on the bahn website and maybe it will work.
Can someone who has taken this route or used the train system in Germany please give me some advise?
Thanks,
Robin

1.this is the continent, which has gone like about the whole sensible world METRIC since long before 1900. We do not do inches and that silly gallon etc.
2.of coruse this is very do-able, fat chance its simply go to other side of same platform. If there is a nice german conductor, s/he will announce platforms before arrival for connections. French do not do that-they rather strike.
But no worry: if too short time, train late-take next 1-just 1 hr later. Some important connectons wait-but that also depends on possible onward further timings.

Hi Robin.
You should be fine if the TGV is in time. Like nltrainer said, if you miss the train, ask the staff at the station (information point in main hall) for the next connection.
By the way: try to sit on the left side of the train at the beginning on the the route Saarbrücken to Koblenz. In the last part you can move to the right. It's a nice and scenic trip! :)
Please be fair and buy your official tickets (special prices available) via [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux]
Thank you, Peter :)

Hi,
otherwise you can go via Bad Kreuznach and Bingen :) So you'll arrive in St. Goar from the south.
If you take the train from Koblenz, I can advise you to get off the train in Boppard :)

Personally I would prefer to stay in Boppard :) But anyway you may do a day trip to Boppard. If you have any questions concerning the Rhine Valley, you can send me a message if you'd like to.
