I apologize if this has been asked but I figured it could be answered more quickly than I could probably find the answer. I plan on traveling from Spain to Italy to Amsterdam. I only want to get a Eurail pass in Italy as I will only be traveling through that country. I will only be in one city in spain and then in Amsterdam.

My question is, Can I buy separate tickets to travel from Spain to Italy, then Italy to Amsterdam on the Eurail, or is it a different typ/name of train I take? I found the routes on the main page of this website, but just want to know if I am looking at the correct thing. It looked like a 16 hour trip from Italy to Amsterdam has about 4 or 5 stops, takes approx 16 hours and costs around $30 euro. Does that sound normal/ correct for a train from Venice to Amsterdam?

Thanks for any help anyone could give me!

Hi.
I think you are mixing something: rail pass reservation fees vs point to point ticket prices concerning Italy to Amsterdam.
The USD 30 you are talking about is I suppose the reservation fees if you travel with a rail pass?!
But if you do not have a rail pass for Italy to Amsterdam, you will need point to point tickets. Have a look here:
https://rail.cc/en/train/venice-to-amsterdam
And follow the blue shopping carts. I recommend the overnight connection via Munich where you will need two tickets for. As earlier you book, as cheaper it will be. And it will definitely be cheaper than Eurail.

For Spain to Italy you want to use a point to point ticket, right? Where in Spain do you want to start from?
As there is a nice and direct option by ferry from Barcelona to Italy: https://rail.cc/en/barcelona/ferry/c

Inside Italy you can have a look on point to point tickets: [ux]https://rail.shop/omio[/ux] - it depends on your route, but it might also be cheaper by point to point tickets.
