Hi, I just have a quick query about this train. It leaves praha hl.n at 6.29pm, so before the 7pm rule comes in to play. Therefore, I'm planning on buying a train ticket to Usti nad Labem then using the pass from there.

When I use the bahn.de site, it lists the Praha hl.n to Usti nad Labem train as IC whereas from Usti nad Labem on to Amsterdam it is CNL. It's still the same train though, right? And at Usti nad Labem I just need to move from an unreserved seat to wherever I reserve for the rest of the journey?

Thanks very much.

yes. You can also change mind and actually see more of CZ as just a capital-a smaller city like Usti-on-the Labe. Take an earlier train. You may even be lucky and order a much cheaper online ticket Pr-Us on cd/eshop.cz.
You can-I think thats even best- take the assigned place-and tell conductor if s/he asks about it. Do not forget to fill in IR with date and travel-report already too! Moving from the unreserved portion to a sleeper or that AMS seats cars can mean having to move all along the train in 1 minute on the perron/nastupiste. You can-after all, its just a train like most others-move INside the train-check at Prahy where your car then is relative to the other. Expect delay-hours-the next morning.
