Hey there,
I am currently in Istanbul, making my way to Bucharest tonight. So, from Flow's report, I know that there is a sleeper car on the train to Bucharest. However, when making my reservation at Sirkeci station, the guy would only make a reservation for the Turkish 6 couchette car. I went back to Sirkeci today to check upon it again but there was nothing that could be done. Does anyone of you know whether it's possible to make a reservation in the sleeper car just on the spot with the train conductor, or am I damned to spend 21 hours in a narrow 6 couchette compartment? :D
Cheers,

Hi Julian,
dont know why they did not want to sell you the sleeper reservation. Recent reports of the area have been sparse sadly, but normally the sleeping car should run. Keep in mind that you first have to use the replacement bus all the way to Cerkezköy.
It wont be a problem to get the sleeper reservation on the train, in February I had to entire coach all to myself; there should be a bit more passengers now in peak summer but I dont think it will be an issue getting a free bed. :)
Would be interesting to hear your experience afterwards.

Thanks for the quick reply! So I'll try to get the reservation on the spot. :) Will share my experience afterwards, I am doing almost the same route you did earlier the year. ;)
