Hi, I am trying to help some friends of mine book train tickets from Iasi to Mercia. It's their first time, both are youth age. It seems like their itinerary would logically be from Iasi to Bucharest, and then from Bucharest to Barcelona and then perhaps from Barcelona to Alicante. And then they could get a local bus to Mercia. But here's my problem. I need to help them with instructions on how to go about doing this. I think they purchase an Interail pass for 3 countries and then go from there. And I would like to know how much is it going to cost. I am now in Texas, and the site said I can not do this from my region. Thanks for any help.

Okay, here's some questions maybe someone can answer: one: are Romanian residents able to purchase Interail Global passes? And if they want to go out from Bucharest, then don't they have to purchase a different reservation to get the Bucharest from Iasi? Like an inter-country ticket?

Hi!
Maybe have a read here: https://rail.cc/en/first-time-interrail
Within Romania, a regular ticket is needed to travel until the border. You can combine a reservation from Iasi or Bucharest to a destination outside of Romania with a regular ticket until the border plus the InterRail Global pass from the border onwards.
There are trains running to Murcia as well, no need to get a bus from Alicante to Murcia.
