Hi,
I plan to go in 2 weeks for an interrail, my rute is zagreb- prague- berlin - amsterdam - london - antwerpen - brusseles- koln- zagreb .

now everything is good and sorted out except one thing that i have been trying to figure out for some time now, and it is best way to get to london.
I know and i have read that its recomended here to go with harwich rute , but thing is it takes realy long and for night ride you need to take room which adds to expenses.
Other route i have figured out kinda my self is one going to calais and then ferry to dover. Now price of ferrys seems to be around 32€ one way for both of those options, and timewise it also seems to be kinda same because ferry takes less but it takes longer to get from amsterdam to calais.
Has anyone been lately taking those rutes with interrail that could confirm or say if there were some at the ticket office discounts for interrail ticket holders because i have read that some people managed to get some unoficial discount for tickets bought at calais aswell.
Any advice or recomendation would be great , thnx

Hi.
You have the options:
- using Eurostar train, but then buy a special price ticket in advance. Do not use the Interrail discount - which is indeed no discount as it is ridiculous expensive. Tickets available here: [ux]https://rail.shop/beurope[/ux]
- by ferry: either Hoek van Holland to Harwich, day connection available as well. I suppose you travel from Amsterdam to London??
Then have a look here: https://rail.cc/en/train/amsterdam-to-london
- by bus
More information here: https://rail.cc/blog/london-to-paris-by-eurostar-train-bus-or-ferry//
And please be fair and buy your official Interrail pass in the railcc shop: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you, Peter :)

The Harwich ferry is only £30 more for the cabin, making it compulsary surprises me as the overnight ferries out of Portsmouth you can go on without having a cabin.
You will also save time as yes it takes a long time but you will be sleeping quite comfortably and the train journey from Harwich to London is the same as from Dover.
Time wise I would say it is a close run thing overall but instead of losing a day to travelling down to Calais you will make the journey overnight and also remember you would have to pay for accomadation to stay the extra night somewhere.
Just remember to take your own food on the ferry as prices will be steep onboard.
