Hi everybody!
I am glad of having found this website! It is really helpful for finding out how to do properly an interrail trip.
I am travelling with two friends, we have bought the 5 days within 10 day pass. First of all, I would like to know what do you think about the itinerary. Is it maybe too much for 14 days? This is our first interrail so We are a bit worried about it.
We will start on Milan and travel to Zürich trough albona railway. do you think is it compulsory to book it or there is no many passengers in this line? We wouldnt like to miss this beautiful journey.
We would like to know which villages are highly recommended to visit in between Zürich-Nüremberg; Nüremberg-Berlin, Berlin-Köln and Köln-Amsterdam. I explain myself better, because those are long journeys, we are thinking in stop in between for resting few hours and discovering new places. For example, I have found Bamberg, in between Nüremberg and Berlin which seems to be a beautiful town and it is easy to see in few hours. Any recommendation?
Any advice will be more than welcome. Many thanks.
All the best,
Miguel.

From Milan to Zurich you're talking about the Bernina and Albula line, right? No need to make reservations there, as long as you avoid the Bernina Express trains (panoramic cars with compulsory reservation, but not faster at all :D )
Now from Zurich to Nuremberg (=Nürnberg in german :) ) it would make sense to add a stop in Munich...as you'll have to change trains there anyways. What time of the year are you traveling? If the timing suits, you could go to the famous Oktoberfest there, just keep in mind that it will be very difficult to find affordable accommodation in Munich during that time.
I am afraid I can't help you for the rest of your trip, sorry :os

Hi.
Here is information about the trip trough the Alps: https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/
Like already said by JoySeeker, it is free with Interrail.
Nuremberg to Berlin: Bamberg, Bayreuth, or a city in Eastern-Germany like Leipzig, Dreden or Erfurt. Check the country information for details: https://rail.cc/en/countries
But it is also possible to travel Nuremberg - Pilsen - Prague - Berlin
On Berlin to Cologne you could stop for example in Hamburg.
It all depends of course on your travel days - where and how much to spent. :)
And please be fair and buy your official Interrail pass on the recommended website - to support all our work: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you, Peter :)
