First post!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can possibly help me, I am interrailling in august and going from Amsterdam to Bischofshofen(Austria) overnight on the 12/13th August. The route i have worked out involves 5 changes, leaving amsterdam at 23.08 and arriving bischofshofen 13.54. the problem is that for one connection - arriving Eindhoven at 00.28, leaving at 00.33 only allows 5 mins transfer time.

Does anyone know how reliable the Amsterdam Centraal - Eindhoven train is?

Or is it worth me trying to find another route?

I'd rather not miss the connection as it is a 6 hour wait otherwise...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

I don't know. The IC doesn't require a reservation and will operate every 30 Minutes. If you want to make sure you are on time take the train at 22:38 :) Nevertheless you have to wait nearly four hours in Düsseldorf :D
Maybe it will be easier to take the night train to Munich and take an EC to Bischofshofen. The reservation fee will be 17,50€ for a Sleeperette.

this is an idiot connection-you will need to wait several hrs in nite somewhere further on, probaly druginfested Heerlen or Venlo -there simply are NO nite time trains crossing the border there.
Be sensible and go earlier-take the last ICE out of AMS toward Köln=(cologne likely for you), or as above, sleeperette seat or couchette=liegewagen in de CNL.
But as such 1000s of people change everyday in EHV with just 2-3 mins-just cross platform to other side- i do it every 2-3 weeks to. Weekends and nite-time are however notorious for works on the tracks and replacement buses. The LAST train of the day will always wait for any connections-or NS will pay for bus or taxi. But in theory IR-holders are exempt from that-but in practice noone will even look at your ticket.
